Nine Maple Farm strives to create a natural environment for the horses. They are turned out 24/7 in herds and allowed freedom of movement. Their turnouts, consisting of multiple terrain, help allow proper hoof growth. They are not fed rich diets which encourages ulcers and bone development problems. When sent for racing, the horses are trained at training farms where they can be turned out and allowed to be horses. The Farm is also experimenting with the Barefoot Performance Horse concept. In this regard, they seek to create an environment that allows for the genetically sound horse to excel while training and competing barefoot. In the Farm's experience, a barefoot horse is a healthier horse (sound in wind and structure) and more able to live up to its genetic and athletic potential. Although not every horse can successfully compete barefoot at the highest level due to genetics, the Farm strives to give those individuals who can successfully compete barefoot every opportunity to do so. Nine Maple Farm is also a proud member of the Massachusetts Thoroughbred Breeders Association . Occasionally, the Farm has athletes available for purchase to special, loving homes. Please inquire. *Unfortunately, Nine Maple Farm is not accepting Boarders at this time.
