Nine Maple Farm strives to create a natural environment for the horses. They are turned out 24/7 in herds and allowed freedom of movement. Their turnouts, consisting of multiple terrain, help allow proper hoof growth. They are not fed rich diets which encourages ulcers and bone development problems. When sent for early race training, the horses are trained at training farms where they can still be turned out and allowed to be horses. We make every effort possible to secure excellent, loving homes for our horses after their race careers. We honestly inform new owners of the horse's complete past history. In fact, we will even send a horse out for retraining before finding him/her a home if that will ensure a better quality of life for the individual. We breed for sound horses in wind and limb. We do not race on a bunch of drugs or steroid type supplements. The horses are rested if performance is suffering and always given time off every year to recuperate. We will always take a horse back at any time if their new home is no longer working out. Nine Maple Farm is also a proud member of the Massachusetts Thoroughbred Breeders Association. Occasionally, the Farm has athletes available for purchase to special, loving homes. Please inquire.
*Unfortunately, Nine Maple Farm is not accepting Boarders at this time. In memory of Clea (1994-2009). The best dog ever. |
